According to the ancient methodology of conservation, Francesco Spirito (1885-1962) studied a way to "petrify" anatomy preparations. He was the Director of Obstetrics in the Santa Maria della Scala Hospital in Siena, so these preparations were of cervix, uterus, fibroid tumor or asyntaxia and abortion.
His collection had the aim of the research, but above all the education for the students of Medicine and Obstetrics.
