This catalogue is the fruit of the computerization of part of one of the most important works by Giuseppe Baldassarri Osservazioni sopra il sale della creta, con un saggio di produzioni naturali dello stato sanese (Observations regarding salt deposited on clay, with a study of natural products of the State of Siena), printed in Siena in 1750 by the Stamperia del Pubblico, which can be considered the Accademia dei Fisiocritici’s first printed catalogue.
The catalogue comprises 130 samples of minerals or rocks and 37 samples of fossil “testacei” collected in the Siena area by Baldassarri himself on behalf of Giovanni Venturi Gallerani.
